Object of the competition is the urban redevelopment of a planning area in Neuss Weckhoven in the Hülchrather road (about 40 000 square meters) as part of a master plan as a rough concept and the urban and high structural deepening a portion (approximately 22,000 sqm) by demolition of the existing buildings and replacement construction of approximately 160 residential units.
The building area is dominated by the large, park-like green area in the center of the area. The development proposes an open line structure that is oriented to the green space: two parts of the building form a situation of a yard, which opens to the open space. Between the buildings is the green space as a public park received, which can be used not only by residents but by the entire neighborhood with the inner green area.
The apartment buildings consist of two wings that are rotated in opposite directions. Between the two wings creates a courtyard that is shared. The yard is a protected space that is used by the residents to stay, play and meetings. Are all aware of surveying in this court, in order to strengthen the cooperation within the household and to revive the farm. The walkways and open stairwells orient themselves on the yard.
